Tegan's Seventh Birthday

Today is a very special day, as it is something called my birthday. This is the very first birthday I have ever had, which is rather confusing, as Mum says it is actually my seventh birthday. Personally I think I would remember if I had had six other birthdays in my life.

When Mum came downstairs this morning instead of our usual Bonio biscuit we all had cheese and parsley treats which she had baked last night. I also got lots of extra fuss and cuddles, and I think I also got a few extra cheese treats (although as it is only my birthday I don't think I should have had to share them in the first place). Breakfast was one of my favourites too. We had junk food, which is really just regular dog food (kibble), but as we are all raw fed we don't have dog food very often. There are two huge advantages to being fed dog food. The first one is that I really like it, and the second one is that Jack, George and Buttons don't, so not only do I get to eat my own bowl of food, I also get to finish off their three bowls of food.

After breakfast we all hopped in the van and drove to the river where we had a quick walk. We didn't stay for too long as it is really too hot to do much more than lay around.

Back at home we had more treats (this time they had pineapple pieces in them) and then we all laid outside on the patio in the shade.

Later on when it had cooled down a little Mum gave me something she called a present. A present is a very strange thing indeed, as it is a regular squeaky toy (my favourite) that has been covered in brightly coloured paper. I am still not totally clear why it has to have the paper on, but I quickly ripped it off and found two wonderful toys. One was a fluffy seal that made a very exciting noise (Mum says it is the noise a real seal would make as if I care about details like that) and the other was brightly coloured lobster that not only made a noise, but also had a squeaker. The lobster was definitely my favourite, so I picked that one up first and carried it to a safe place under the stairs.

I then came back to get my seal, and can you believe it but Buttons had taken it (paper and all) and was playing with it in the garden. This meant I had to lie down near him and keep a close eye on it until he got up and I could rush over and grab it. Thank goodness boys have such short attention spans. Still I finally got both of my new toys stowed safely under the stairs where I could lie down and play with them in peace (except for Mum continually interrupting me to try and take pictures and cuddle me).

Dinner was chicken necks which are nice and easy for me to eat as I don't have many teeth left, and the rest of the evening was spent snoozing after my busy day (oh, and being cuddled by Mum of course).
