Christmas 2003

It was Christmas in our house today, and this is the second one that I have spent with my family.

Just like last year Mum had put a toy inside my wrapping paper, but I quickly removed the toy and got on with the serious business of shredding the paper. I did make sure I squeaked the toy a few times first, just so Mum’s feelings wouldn't be hurt, but then I went round to all the other dogs' beds and shredded their paper too.

One thing was different from last year though. The Christmas tree went upstairs this year (instead of in the living room), so that I couldn't take the decorations off and collect them in my bed. At first I was a bit sad about this, but I quickly realised that at Christmas time there is always lots of other things left lying around that I can collect instead, so it all turned out ok. And one thing I did learn is that candle don’t taste as good as they look.

My other present was snow. I love snow and we were very lucky that this year we had a lot of it just before Christmas. Thankfully this was also my Mum's very first white Christmas, so she was as excited about the snow as I was. This meant she was always happy to take us outside to play in it.

Aside from the presents, Christmas is also about lots of lovely things to eat and lots of extra fuss—it is just as wonderful as I remember.
