Buttons's Eleventh Birthday

Today (5^th January 2005) I had another one of those things my Mum calls a birthday, which was very good news indeed. She has finally worked out that the best present she can give me is a piece of paper to shred, and as today was a special day I actually got a whole box with lots of different pieces of paper inside. I think shiny wrapping paper is still my favourite, but I did also play with some kitchen roll and old newspaper too, and made a very fine nest indeed.

I also got lots of food treats, and Dad bought me a large tub of my favourite biscuits from the pet store (malted animal shapes incase you are wondering). At the pet store they have lots of different biscuits, and Jack and Tegan will eat any of them, but I have a more discerning palette. I will take any biscuit that is on offer, but then I just chew it into little pieces and mash it into my bedding. Not malted animal shapes though, and now I have my very own tub of them that I don't even have to share.

Throughout the day Mum remembered that I like to have my ears rubbed a lot, and so she kept doing this without me even having to ask (normally I stand in my bed and bark when I feel in need of some attention). Jack and I spent some quality time barking at things outside, and when we ran out of things to bark at we barked at each other instead, and when Dad came home we went into the garden so he could feed us pigs hearts - yum.

All in all it was another excellent birthday.
