Links To Other WebsitesThese are some of my favourite greyhound-related sites. Many of the online retail sites are based in the UK, and those that aren't will ship to the UK (and usually Europe) if required. In most cases I have used the ones that offer goods for sale, and they are listed here because I have found their service and products to be of the highest quality. If there is a particular site that you would like to see here, please e-mail me the details. Please note that these links will open in a new window, but if you don't close it, they will all open in the same one.
Shopping (for your dog)2 Dog Leash.com make rope leads for owners of multiple dogs. Although this isn't a product I have tried, the idea seems a good one, and could be worth investigating if you own more than one dog (and lets face it - what greyhound owner doesn't?!) Boomerang Dog Tags sells a huge range of plastic dog tags in all shapes, sizes and colours. The engraving is deep, and the tags are good quality and reasonably priced. They will engrave on both sides for a small extra charge, which means even a small tag can hold a lot of information. A nice alternative to the more traditional metal tags. Collar of The Month Club offer an enormous selection of martingale collars which are grouped into designs suitable for each month of the year. All my dogs wear these as their everyday collars, as they are hardwearing, lightweight and very reasonable priced. Click here to see pictures of the dogs in their collars. Fast Jack Sportswear. An American-based company that sells an excellent range of Greyhound themed t-shirts. My personal favourite is the one that says "We Came, We Ran, We Took a Nap". Fastdogs UK sells a range of goods for all sight hounds (and their owners). The coats are excellent, and all of mine wear them, as they are well designed and suit event the most active hound. Gilrugs make wonderful fitting thermal (Flectalon) dog coats. All my dogs have one. Although not waterproof, they are brilliantly warm and windproof, and work well for arthritic and older dogs. They are not cheap (the average greyhound size will set you back over £40) but my oldest ones have been through 4 winters now, and still look as good as new. It is also worth contacting the company before ordering, as they often have a selection of coats in discontinued colours/designs drastically reduced (I have bought several coats this way). Greyhound Gang is based in Utah, USA, and run by Claudia. A brilliant site with lots of information on all aspects of greyhound ownership. They also sell excellent supplements that are very reasonably priced, and host weekly auctions selling lots unusual and rare greyhound themed items. ID Tags make real military style dog tags for dogs. The web site clearly explains the options, and I like having up to 6 lines for your details. This allows more 'personalisation' than on a regular tag (e.g. "Hi, my name is George and I am lost. Please help me find my Mum" followed by a selection of phone numbers). Tags are also available for pets on medication or with health problems. Kitsch Collars are a UK based site that offer fancy designer collars and leads for all breeds of dogs. The collars are very beautiful and well worth a look if you hanker after something a little more eye catching than the usual pet shop selection. I don't personally own any of these collars as on the couple that I have seen I felt the hardware was a little heavy, however many of my greyhound owning friends have been very complimentary about them. Kumfi Canine Products sell a wonderful product called the 'Stop Pull Harness'. I have used this on several dogs, all of which pulled for different reasons. They all stopped within days, and only ever needed to wear the harness for a short time. It is well padded and does not damage sensitive greyhound skin. Montana Dog Wear. All mine have fleece coats made by this company, and they are brilliant for colder climates or dogs that really feel the cold. With the US/UK exchange rate the prices seem reasonable. Nancy B makes beautiful collars, in a huge variety of sizes and designs. All of my dogs have several of her collars, and they are some of the most reasonably priced and well made martingale collars I have found. Nancy will happily ship abroad (she is based in the US) at cost, and is always happy to handle special requests. The Storm Defender coat was designed for dogs that exhibit fear before or during thunderstorms. After trying many things to help George cope with his intense storm phobia, this was the one product that finally 'cured' him. They offer 100% money back guarantee. And you may like to note the handsome model on the top of the front page of the website The Golden Hound offers some lovely greyhound jewellery, including beautiful St Francis dog tags. They are happy to ship world-wide. The Greyhound Shopping Mall is an extensive list of suppliers of all things greyhound. If you are after a specific item or just fancy a browse then this is a good place to while away a couple of hours! [top] Information contained herein is provided 'as is'.
